FAQ
How long do the results last?

Depending on several factors, including the individual's oral hygiene habits, and their lifestyle teeth whitening typically lasts 4-12 months. Most people come back yearly or every 6 months to maintain results.
How does it work?

Teeth whitening works by using peroxide based agents activated by a led light to break down stains and discoloration on the surface of the teeth, resulting in a brighter and whiter appearance. You will have your mouth open with a gum retractor lying down on a comfortable bed. Typically appointments will take 1.5 hours. Feel free to bring headphones as you can listen to your music or go on your phone during the treatment.
Can I come back for a touch-up session?

Yes, I offer touch up sessions for those wanting to achieve even whiter teeth after their first session. A touch up is recommended within 4-6 for best results.
How do I prepare for my appointment?

-
Brush and floss teeth thoroughly.
-
Scaling and cleaning appointments at your dentist is highly recommended at least 1 week prior. Teeth will have a difficult time whitening if there is tartar, plaque or debris build up.
If you have sensitive teeth, use Sensodyne toothpaste at least one week leading up to your appointment to prevent further sensitivity.
What is aftercare like?

You may drink water immediately after treatment. Do not brush your teeth for the first 24 minutes after treatment. Avoid the following for 24 hours:
-
Avoid all staining foods and beverages that are dark in colour.
-
Avoid berries, red wine, juice, pop, coffee or tea.
-
Refrain from using coloured mouthwash.
-
No moving for 24 hours.
-
Avoid super cold or hot drinks as this will spike sensitivity.
-
Follow a “white food diet” for 24 hours.
Is it damaging to my enamel?

No, teeth whitening is not damaging to the enamel being performed by a professional.
I have veneers and a crown, will my teeth still whiten?

Over time you may have stains build up on your veneers and crown. Teeth whitening can lift the stains, but keep in mind that they can only go as white as the original colour of the veneer or crown.
Will my teeth be sensitive after whitening them?

Depending on how strong your enamel is, you may experience little to no sensitivity. If you experience any sensitivity, take Advil or Tylenol and use Sensodyne toothpaste until the sensitivity no longer permits. Sensitivity varies from one person to the next and usually not serve with our products.
